A propane torch inside the end of a tube can make it oscillate. See also my website at http://www.sparkbangbuzz.com for more interesting experiments and details. It is interesting to note that in the case of the copper tube, it only oscillates when the torch tip is relatively cool. Oscillations are not produced after the metal tip of the torch has heated up.
