Travis the gentle chimpanzee would often enjoy a glass of wine before snuggling in bed with his owner/best friend. The night this 911 call was recorded, Travis overdosed on his Adderall and, without fully realizing what he was doing, he bit both hands off of a visiting guest and then ripped her face right off. When the police arrived, he punched the mirrors off the squad car and was promptly shot 20 times in the chest. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Bethesda Animal E.R.
